Went to see Valentino: The Last Emperor, when the film festival was on, and it was surprisingly good, I wasn’t really sure what to expect. It was touching with unexpected moments of comedy. The film is less about his fashion, and more about the eccentric nature of Valentino and his relationship with Giancarlo Giammetti, his life partner. The film kinda sprung all over the place at times, and also followed the power struggle between Valentino as the figurehead of the brand, and the business’s that had shares and control in the company. It’s worth a watch, if only for the pug dogs.
