Strange that we often begin by describing what we do for our coin, but it's a good place to start. A fledgling graphic designer, working on 3 magazines at a small studio. This blog is a way for me to keep track of the things I see and experience, to record all the little bits and pieces I seem to accumulate. Dear to my heart are of course magazines and books, fabrics, patterns, paper and prints, and things with a little bit of history.

Dying for Deco

Lately my attention has been drawn to art deco jewellery, especially rings, and these pieces from NZ’s own Meadowlark seen on my latest trip to Wellington really hit the spot. In particular the fabulous “protea” ring, based on a plant form. The New Zealand Jewellery Show is on this weekend, and soon I will be visiting the exhibition of my good friend Anne, who is an up and coming fine arts jeweller. Stay tuned to see her quirky and clever work! In the meantime get some deco decadence at the meadowlark website www.meadowlark.co.nz or visit their blog which is also featuring some really great posts www.meadowlarkjewellery.blogspot.com
